About Central Sheffield PBC

Sheffield Central Commissioning Consortium has 24 Practices working together to improve the quality and delivery of services for the patients that they serve and reduce health inequalities. The Consortium has the majority of inner city Practices within Sheffield with high levels of deprivation, chronic disease and social need and wishes to develop innovative solutions to improve the quality and levels of care within its local community.

The Consortium has been in operation since August 2006 and has strived to engage the involvement of clinical and managerial involvement since the start. All Practices have representation in the management steering group and has an inclusive approach to the decision making process. The Consortium's main driver for working together is to improve patient care and engage clinicians and patients in changes to services, ensuring that new services are meaningful and add value.
